We will be closed from noon Wednesday, November 25th through Sunday, November 29th in honor of the Thanksgiving holiday. We currently have a large supply of Live H1N1 nasal vaccine spray. We also have a limited supply of H1N1 injectable vaccine specifically for children 6 to 35 months of age. These will be available in our regularly scheduled immunization clinics until supplies are depleted. Immunization clinics are held in our main office at 748 Battlefield Blvd North behind the Chesapeake General Hospital and Lifestyle Center on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 am to 10:30 am and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. A special immunization clinic will be held at the same office on Tuesday November 24th from 2 pm to 6 pm. This special clinic is specifically for college aged students and will only offer the H1N1 live nasal spray. Immunization clinics are also held at the South Norfolk Health Center at 490 Liberty Street on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. Live H1N1 nasal vaccine spray is a good and safe alternative to the vaccine injection for healthy children who are over 2 years of age and healthy adults up to the age of 49. Vaccine will be given on a first-come first-served basis and is free of charge. Because of limited vaccine supplies, we are currently unable to offer second doses of H1N1 vaccine at this time. You are advised to check with your physician to see if they have the vaccine available. (*New Message dated Monday, November 23rd, 2009)
