TrainingPHD maintains educational relationships with local medical, nursing, and technical schools and colleges/universities. Students can gain practical experience in clinical, administrative, and community outreach settings with opportunities for public health research and program planning work.

Be Smart!PHD employs professional health educators who design, implement, and evaluate activities for improving the health of district residents. Education sessions are conducted in a variety of settings and include topics such as:
injury prevention, healthy heart, cancer prevention, smoking cessation, oral hygiene, family planning, nutrition, exercise, asthma, sexually transmitted diseases, weight
management, diabetes

Mobile VanThe health department operates a mobile van which provides public health services to residents at sites such as health fairs, schools, workplaces, recreation centers, churches, shopping centers, and neighborhoods throughout the district. Services include blood pressure screenings,
immunizations, and educational programs.
