The Rappahannock-Rapidan Medical Reserve Corps recruits, pre-credentials and trains medical professionals and non-medical community members to respond to public health emergencies and in non-emergent times to assist with health related activities in the counties of Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock.
The RRMRC partners with the Rappahannock-Rapidan Health District, Culpeper Regional Hospital, Fauquier Health System, Department of Social Services, Emergency Managers, County Administrators , Town Police Departments, and County Sheriff Offices.
New volunteers are always welcome
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Medical Reserve Corps recruits practicing, retired or otherwise employed medical professionals, as well as community members with non-medical skills. Physicians, pharmacists, nurses, epidemiologists and paramedics are just a sampling of the medical community who are RRMRC members. Clergy, interpreters, sign language interpreters, administrative assistants, volunteer coordinators and all other members of our community are also encouraged to consider becoming a part of the RRMRC.
To be an approved Rappahannock-Rapidan Medical Reserve Corps volunteer you are required to complete the following :
A. Application includes signing Liability,
B. Copy of medical licensure (if applicable)
C. background check completed
D. Volunteer Orientation and Initial Training
Once the initial orientation and training is completed, the RRMRC member will be able to attend a variety of training opportunities that are offered during the year.
