The Acute Care Division

doctorThe Acute Care Division is responsible for the licensing and monitoring provider compliance with state licensing laws and regulations through regular, on-site inspections. Provider entities include: inpatient and outpatient hospitals, home care organizations and hospice programs. The division also monitors the quality of care provided to consumers by managed care health insurance plans (MCHIPS) and monitors the compliance to state regulations of private review agents (PRAs). In addition, the division conducts inspections of clinical laboratories participating in the federal Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) program.

The Division also conducts investigations to determine provider compliance with Medicare and Medicaid requirements. These certified provider organizations include: inpatient and outpatient hospitals, home health program, hospice programs, rural health clinics, dialysis facilities, outpatient physical therapy/outpatient speech therapy providers, comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation facilities, x-ray services providers, and psychiatric residential treatment facilities.
