Hospitals

State law requires that all inpatient and outpatient hospitals obtain a license to provide health care services.  There are more than 100 inpatient and outpatient hospitals located throughout Virginia. In addition, all hospitals are certified for federal reimbursement under Medicare and Medicaid.

Hospitals are inspected every 2 years under state licensure and as assigned by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid for certification.
