CLAS Specialist


The CLAS Specialist responsibilities include managing the Virginia Department of Health’s Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) initiatives. VDH’s CLAS initiatives include: Medical Interpreter Training Grant Program, Language Needs Assessments, developing and providing CLAS training and managing VDH’s award winning:  www.CLASACTVirgina.org website. 

Additionally, his or her duties span to developing and implementing solutions that enhance the quality and accessibility of language access and culturally appropriate services throughout the state of Virginia by providing resources, training and technical assistance to health care services within health districts, other safety network providers, and other interested entities across the state.
