Funds to Assist with the Purchase of TB Medications

VDH has funding available to provide financial assistance to clients with tuberculosis (TB)  who meet specified criteria.  There are different procedures for clients with active TB and clients with drug-resistant TB.

Funds are available to provide financial assistance with TB medication for clients who do not qualify for free or reduced prescription drugs and who lack adequate income or insurance coverage to purchase the required prescription drugs.  The funds cannot be used to offset the local health district (LHD) share of costs for medications.

In addition, funds are available to purchase medications and supplies for individuals who have drug-resistant tuberculosis and require treatment with second-line antimicrobial agents.

The following procedures were established to clarify eligibility and increase participation in these two programs.
