John joined Internal Audit at the Health Department in January 1980 as a Staff Auditor, was later promoted to Audit Senior, and in 1984 was promoted to Internal Audit Manager. Between August 1974 and 1980 John was a program representative and fraud auditor for the Virginia Medical Assistance program (Medicaid) when it was part of the Health Department.
He earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration, with concentration in Management from Charleston Southern University.
John is a Certified Public Accountant. The CPA certification is issued by the Virginia Board of Accountancy. John is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
