Bob joined the Virginia Health Department in February 1984 as the Information Systems Audit Manager.
He earned a Bachelors Degree in Accounting with a minor concentration in Data Processing and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Bob is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and a Certified Information Systems Auditor. The CISSP certification is issued by International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc., the CISA certification is issued by Information Systems Audit and Control Association.
He has worked in accounting, financial auditing, and corporate tax auditing for 6 years, various data processing positions (systems analyst, quality assurance manager, information systems security officer) for 7 years and the current I.S. audit position for 17 years, cryptography (encryption and digital signatures) for 6 years, and telephone network technology for 5 years. Within the past 5 years Bob has conducted or supervised numerous information system reviews in program areas and Health Districts in Virginia.
Bob has provided advice and consulted on a wide range of topics for the agency. Bob is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, International Computer Security Association, and the Information Systems and Control Association.
