Emergency Medical Services Approved Training (EMSAT) is a monthly, one-hour training and information program for Virginia EMS and Fire personnel. Certified Virginia EMS providers may receive category I and 2 continuing education credit by viewing an EMSAT in three ways: viewing a webcast live at a designated state site, viewing archived EMSAT classes and taking a quiz on CentreLearn (free), and viewing EMSAT DVDs at home and taking a quiz.

EMSAT webcasts can be started anytime between 7 and 8 PM, and end at 9 PM on the third Wednesday of each month. OEMS Designated web-based sites must have the latest version of Media Windows Player, an LCD or DLP projector and a high-speed DSL (or faster) connection. We have noticed that not all internet service is created equal. The better your connection, the better it will look. To request an application to become a web-based EMSAT site, or for information on EMSAT sites, please contact Tracie Jones (Tracie.Jones@vdh.virginia.gov) at the Virginia Office of EMS (800) 523-6019 or (804) 888-9120. For more information on taking part in EMSAT training, or questions about technical issues with EMSAT, please contact Terry Coy (Terry.Coy@vdh.virginia.gov) at (804) 888-9120 or (804) 366-4537.
