  • Spirit Night Dinner Cruise
    Wednesday, Nov. 7,  from 7 – 9 p.m., boarding time is 6:30 p.m.

    You’re invited to celebrate our annual Spirit Night with a special dinner cruise on the Elizabeth River. On Wednesday, Nov. 7, the Virginia Office of EMS has organized a Spirit of Norfolk dinner cruise, which will be available to all symposium registrants and guests. This special cruise is offered at a discounted conference rate of $60/person. The cruise includes a dinner buffet, DJ entertainment, games and a large rooftop lounge with panoramic views. The cruise is from 7 – 9 p.m., boarding time is 6:30 p.m. and reservations are required. Update! Reservations are still available, and can be booked up to 24-hours before the cruise date, Nov. 7, 2018. On-site ticket purchase will also be offered, but it’s subject to availability.

Thursday, Nov. 8

  • Free Flu Shot Clinic
    Thursday, Nov. 8, from 8 – 11 a.m.

    4th floor, Marriott
    A free Flu Shot Clinic will be held on Thursday, Nov. 8, from 8 – 11 a.m. in the Marriott foyer area on the fourth floor near the escalators. This event is open to everyone, however vaccines are limited so be sure to arrive early. This event is provided in coordination with the Hampton Roads Metropolitan Medical Response System, Norfolk Health Department and Tidewater EMS Council.
  • Thursday Night Band
    Thursday, Nov. 8, from 8 p.m. – 12 a.m.
    Hampton Ballroom, 3rd floor, Marriott

    Enjoy live music from guitarists Doug Wolfberg and Steve Matthes, in “That’s What She Said,” (TWSS), one of Harrisburg’s top classic rock bands. TWSS originally formed in 2009, and have been playing at clubs and other venues throughout Central Pennsylvania. TWSS also plays private events and parties throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Along with Doug and Steve; bass player Chris Matthes and drummer Dave Abramowitz, TWSS is a high-energy band that really gets into the music they play. They give their all during every show and won’t rest until everyone is having a good time. Don’t miss out on the fun! There will be giveaways offered all night, including: Registration to the 2019 Virginia EMS Symposium, Registration to one of Page Wolfberg and Wirth’s ambulance billing and coding (abc360) conferences, a chance to sing a song with the band and lots of other great prizes!

    A DJ will be playing music during the band breaks on Thursday, Nov. 8, from 8 -11 p.m. in the Hampton Ballroom, third floor, Marriott.

  • Game Night – Monte Carlo
    Friday, Nov. 9, from 9 p.m. – 12 a.m.

    Try your luck at craps, roulette, blackjack and more on Friday, Nov. 9, from 9 p.m. – 12 a.m. in the Hampton Ballroom, third floor, Marriott.  New this year – There will be lots more exciting entertainment options at this event with the addition of RC race cars, pool tables and slot machines!

Saturday, Nov. 10

  • Annual Governor’s EMS Awards Ceremony and Reception
    Saturday, Nov. 10, 6:45 – 8:45 p.m. 
    Norfolk Ballroom, 1st floor, Marriott

    On Saturday, Nov. 10, join us in celebrating the Commonwealth’s 2018 Governor’s EMS Award presentation. There is no charge for this event and everyone is invited to attend. We’ll have the EMS Memorial Tribute and the presentation of the awards. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. The program runs from 6:45 – 8:45 p.m. Dinner will be served and limited banquet-style seating will be available.
  • Saturday Night Dance
    Saturday, Nov. 10, 9 p.m. 
    Hampton, 3rd floor, Marriott

    Following the Governor’s EMS Awards reception, please join us for the annual dance, beginning at 9 p.m. in the Hampton Ballroom, third floor, Marriott. Enjoy DJ entertainment and dancing.
