Registration is now open for the 2017 Virginia Public Health & Healthcare Academy and Field Epidemiology Seminar in Fredericksburg May 31-June2, 2017. In addition to our healthcare partners, the VDH targeted attendees include health directors, emergency coordinators, epidemiologists, volunteer coordinators, nurse managers, regional and district designated public information officers, a communicable disease nurse and a volunteer from each MRC.
The Academy will begin at 11:00 a.m. on May 31st so morning travel to Fredericksburg will be feasible for many. We will kick off the program with Dr. Rahul Gupta, Commissioner, West Virginia Department of Health and Human Services Bureau of Public Health speaking on The Role of Public Health and Healthcare in Building Resilient Communities. We will continue the day with a weather event table top exercise. There will be a vendor sponsored lunch and opportunities to visit vendors and mobile medical assets. After all the sessions, bring a mat or towel and join us for yoga to end the day.
On the morning of June 1st, following updates from the directors of both the PHEP and HPP grants you’ll have the opportunity to attend three breakout sessions of your choice. There will be another vendor sponsored lunch and then we will move to an afternoon of discipline-specific meetings.
