Birds Reported and Tested for WNV

2006 | 2005 | 2004 | 2003 | 2002 | 2001

As of 2007, birds are no longer routinely tested for West Nile Virus infection. As groups or flocks of dead birds are much more likely to have died from an avian disease other than WNV, or from pesticide poisoning, dead groups or flocks of birds should be reported to the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries or the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) Office of Pesticide Services (804-786-2042). For more information, please contact the Division of Environmental Epidemiology at 804-864-8182.
