Viral Hepatitis

Viral hepatitis is inflammation or swelling of the liver due to infection with the Hepatitis A, B, C, D, E or G viruses. The liver is the largest internal organ of the human body, and is responsible for many bodily functions. Among the six major hepatitis viruses, hepatitis A virus (HAV), hepatitis B virus (HBV), and hepatitis C virus (HCV) are by far the most common in the United States.
