Waterborne Hazards Control Program

two fishThe mission of the Waterborne Hazards Control Program is the prevention and control of water-related health problems in Virginia. Specific activities include: investigating reports of illnesses related to water exposure, conducting epidemiological studies to determine risk factors for waterborne illnesses, contributing to the development of water-related policies and regulations, maintain databases on water related illnesses, water quality, confined animal feeding operations (CAFO) and beach monitoring, and collaborating with other state and federal agencies in addressing waterborne health hazards.
