State Office of Minority Health

OMHPHP serves as the State Office of Minority Health. In this capacity, the Office develops prorams and partnerships to target racial/ethnic minority communities and to promote the education of health inequities.

There are five federally recognized minority populations in Virginia:

• African American/Black
• Hispanic/Latino
• Asian American
• Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander
• American Indian and Alaskan Native
