Virginia's State Office of Rural Health works closely with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Corporation, the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), the US Treasury New Market Tax Credit Program and the Virginia Healthy Communities Loan Fund to assure maximum utilization of funding to develop healthcare infrastructure in rural Virginia. In addition, the VA-SORH attempts to support the non-system owned and corporate capitalized rural practices in their attempts to receive local government capital support for their practices.
