Statewide Policy Agent

Virginia’s State Office of Rural Health (VA-SORH) works through the Virginia Rural Health Association (VRHA) to support and advance policies that positively impact rural health in Virginia. Created in partnership with the VA-SORH, the mission of the VRHA is to:   

1. Serve as an advocate for rural health development at the local, state, and federal levels.
2. Foster cooperative partnerships to improve rural health in Virginia.
3. Support the work of other interest groups in their efforts to improve rural health in Virginia.

VRHA works to strengthen rural health network systems, provide host various conferences and training opportunities (including the Annual VRHA Conference and the Annual Rural Health Planning Summit), and provide regular information through weekly updates and the bi-annual print newsletter.
