Have you wanted to do something to help before? By joining the PENINSULA MRC unit you can be ready to respond. We need 5,000 MRC volunteers that are passionate and committed to Protecting the Health of Virginia.
The PENINSULA MRC is a group of volunteer health care professionals and community members protecting the health of: The cities of Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, and Williamsburg, and the counties of James City, and York.
PenMRC joined with CERT teams and volunteers from across the Peninsula and Hampton for a full day of skills training in Advanced Medical Operations. CERT members trained at hands-on work stations with paramedics from Peninsula Medical Reserve Corps, and partnering jurisdictions in an environment made realistic using moulage on actors that included Peninsula Medical Reserve Corps volunteers who rotated through the stations.
The Peninsula MRC unit’s mission is to augment and assist existing community operations during large-scale emergencies, aid in the response to pressing health care needs, and improve community emergency preparedness.
