Rappahannock-Rapidan Medical Reserve Corps |

The Rappahannock-Rapidan Medical Reserve Corps is a group
of volunteer health care professionals and community members trained to respond
and assist with public health crises in the counties of Culpeper, Fauquier,
Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock Virginia. This unit is one of
approximately 800 units that are part of the national Medical
Reserve Corps program under the direction of the Office of the
U. S. Surgeon General and 1 of 27 in the Commonwealth of Virginia. In
the fall of 2003, the Rappahannock-Rapidan Health District was awarded funding
from the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services to establish a district
Medical Reserve Corps
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Medical Reserve Corps recruits
practicing, retired or otherwise employed medical professionals, as well as community
members with non-medical skills. Physicians, pharmacists, nurses, epidemiologists
and paramedics are just a sampling of the medical community who are RRMRC members. Clergy,
interpreters, sign language interpreters, administrative assistants, volunteer
coordinators and all other members of our community are also encouraged to consider
becoming a part of the RRMRC.

Membership in the Rappahannock-Rapidan Medical Reserve
Corps requires

Completed application
B. Copy of medical licensure (if applicable)
C. Liability, HIPAA and background check completed
D. Volunteer
Orientation and Initial Training
Once the initial orientation and training is completed, the RRMRC member
will be able to attend a variety of training opportunities that are offered
during the year.
Please take a moment to review our training schedule, read our newsletter and/or register for service. We appreciate your time and interest and hope to have you as an active Medical Reserve Corps member in the very near future.
