What can I do to help?

BXP39610sMajor health emergencies can overwhelm the health care and public health systems very quickly.  Medical and other health volunteers can provide an important help during this critical period.  They can also help in mass vaccination clinics or maybe at local medical and emergency facilities.  In short, communities need medically trained volunteers to fill in the gaps in a large emergency and to improve their ability to help the community.

We cannot do this alone; we need your help.

Volunteers are needed to help local government or health departments respond to large disasters and emergencies.

The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a program designed to help organize local volunteers to work with emergency response groups, health departments and hospitals during large-scale local emergencies, such as a flu outbreak and severe weather. Health professionals and others who are interested in helping can volunteer their time and skills within a community-based, volunteer organization.
