Summit Goals:

1. To educate the community about cutting edge research about Infant Mortality
2. To develop coordinated partnerships that take actions aimed at reducing Infant Mortality in Eastern Virginia

Summit Objectives:
As a result of attending this Summit, participants will be able to:

• Explain the main causes of Infant Mortality in Eastern Virginia
• Explain the highlights of cutting edge research about Infant Mortality
• Explain the results of the Smart Beginning Regional Assessment
• Recognize and understand existing Prevention Strategies
• Form an Eastern Region Infant Mortality Reduction Coalition that develops Regional Goals and Action Steps and presents a Report of Accomplishments on November 1, 2008
