LORD FAIRFAX EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES COUNCIL RECOGNIZES EMS EXCELLENCE

July 3, 2013

Winchester, Va. – The Lord Fairfax Emergency Medical Services (LFEMS) Council, Inc., paid tribute to the tremendous service provided by its Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel at the council’s regional award ceremony held June 12, 2013, at the Front Royal Fire Department in Front Royal, Va.

“Because of the vital nature of EMS, it’s imperative that we shine a bright light on the hard work performed every single day by these selfless individuals. We all go about our daily lives often forgetting the sacrifices made, not only by the providers themselves, but by their families as well. We take great pride in being able to acknowledge their great work and actions once a year,” said Tracey McLaurin, executive director of the Lord Fairfax EMS Council.

Recipients of this year’s regional awards compete for the 2013 Governor’s EMS Awards, which will be announced at the Virginia EMS Symposium’s Annual Awards Ceremony, November 10, in Norfolk, Va. Winners will be presented with a trophy and a certificate signed by the Governor.

“The Regional EMS Awards program gives each council the opportunity to showcase the remarkable acts of service demonstrated by their local EMS providers. Congratulations, and thank you, to this year’s recipients who have proven their excellence by going above and beyond the call of duty,” said Gary Brown, director of the Virginia Office of EMS.
