Primary Practice Opportunities of Virginia is a resource of the Virginia Recruitment and Retention Network, a partnership among the Virginia Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Program, and the Virginia Department of Health, Office of Minority Health and Public Health Policy.

For your convenience, the state has been divided into eight geographic regions. Each region is served by an AHEC. The AHECs are available for local assistance or to answer questions that you may have beyond the information you find here.

Important Message: To avoid duplicate referrals, if you are contacting the AHECs directly regarding opportunities, please inform them that you have registered with PPOVA and it is not necessary for them to forward your information to PPOVA.
