Introduction to the Incident Command System   – Online Training Opportunity

Description:  ICS 100.C, Introduction to the Incident Command System, introduces the Incident Command System (ICS) and provides the foundation for higher level ICS training. This course
describes the history, features and principles, and organizational structure of the Incident Command System. It also explains the relationship between ICS and the National Incident
Management System (NIMS). This is a core requirement for all Medical Reserve Corps members.  Once you have successfully completed the course, please forward your certificate to Kristina Morris at swva.mrc@vdh.virginia.gov.

Description:  IS-700.B introduces the National Incident Management System (NIMS).  NIMS provides a consistent nationwide template to enable all government, private-sector, and nongovernmental organizations to work together during domestic incidents. Introduction to Mental Health PreparednessOnline Training Opportunity
This course is designed to help volunteers understand the psychosocial consequences of disasters and what care can assist disaster survivors immediately following a disaster.  ALL Southwest Virginia MRC members are encouraged to complete this course.  This is a web-based course which can be accessed at anytime through VA TRAIN (https://va.train.org) Course #1048051.  This course will also be offered later in the year in a classroom setting once trainers are in place.   Check back for classroom training dates.
