ServSafe Manager Certification Training

This two-day, 16-hour introductory food safety management course is appropriate for food service managers and chefs working in hotels, restaurants, schools, clubs, and institutions.  After completing the class, participants take a certification exam from the National Restaurant Association.  For more information contact Ruth Schrecongost (434) 872-4580.

NEHA Certified Professional Food Manager Training – Recertification
This one-day accelerated class is for seasoned food service professionals who want to renew their certification and learn the latest regarding food safety and foodborne illness prevention.  Students take the Prometric™ exam at the end of the course.  To register please call PVCC Workforce Services, (434) 961-5354 or email Workforce@pvcc.edu

ServSafe Manager Recertification Course

This one day accelerated class is designed for the seasoned foodservice professional who wants to renew their certification and learn the latest science regarding food safety and foodborne illness prevention.  Operators new to the industry will need to prepare for the course by purchasing the book with online exam voucher (at the PVC bookstore) prior to the class and reading at least the first 3 chapters.  The nationally recognized ServSafe online exam will be administered at the end of the class.  You will have to complete a short student registration process with PVCC to sign up for the class.  Additionally you need to sign up with www.servsafe.com to register for the exam.  If you don’t purchase the book with exam voucher, you will need to purchase the exam voucher with a credit card when you register to take the exam.

ServSafe Food Handling Class
