I’d like to highlight the work of the CDC’s TB Regional Training and Medical Consultation Centers (RTMCCs), and in particular, an upcoming webinar from our own Southeastern Region RTMCC.
TB Regional Training and Medical Consultation Centers
The CDC’s Division of Tuberculosis Elimination has funded five TB Regional Training and Medical Consultation Centers for the project period 2013-2017; these RTMCCs are regionally assigned to cover all 50 states and the U.S. territories. The RTMCC for our region is the Southeastern National TB Center (SNTC) in Gainesville, FL. The primary purpose of each RTMCC is to:
– Provide training and technical assistance to increase human resource development in TB programs;
– Develop TB educational materials (RTMCC TB Training and Education Products Webpage); and
– Provide medical consultation to TB programs and medical providers.
See information below for an upcoming webinar from the faculty at SNTC on TB Molecular Diagnostics.
In addition, I have attached the Official American Thoracic Society/Infectious Diseases Society of America/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Clinical Practice Guidelines: Diagnosis of Tuberculosis in Adults and Children for your review.
