VDH Division of Health Statistics
The Division of Health Statistics provides access to timely, comprehensive, population-based health data on a wide range of measures; including information on population, teenage pregnancies, births, deaths, induced terminations and fetal deaths.

VDH Surveillance Data
The Division of Surveillance and Investigation compiles monthly and annual disease surveillance data for the Commonwealth of Virginia.  Additional data on HIV/AIDS, STD and TB can be found on VDH’s Division of Disease Prevention website.

VDH OCME Annual Reports
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) investigates approximately 6,000 deaths a year.  The annual report summarizes these investigations and the other activities of the office.

The Virginia Atlas of Community Health
The Atlas provides dozens of community health indicators by Virginia cities and counties.  The Atlas contains county and zip code level data for 114 population, economic and health indicators.

CDC Wonder
WONDER’s online databases utilize a rich ad-hoc query system for the analysis of public health data. Information includes: compressed mortality, cancer statistis, Healthy People 2010, births, AIDS, and public use data.

CDC Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS)
The primary focus of these surveys has been on behaviors and conditions that are linked with the leading causes of death—heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, and injury—and other important health issues.  Virginia’s data is located at www.vahealth.org/brfss

CDC NCHHSTP Atlas
The CDC’s National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP) atlas is an interactive tool that provides an effective way to disseminate data and observe trends and patterns.
