They work together to prepare for events like disease outbreaks, bioterrorism, and other health emergencies. This team works with hospitals, government agencies, volunteers, and community partners during training and real emergencies.<\/p>\n<p>The district uses a Health Alert Network (HAN). This system allows staff to be contacted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In an emergency, alerts can be sent to staff and partners within minutes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Health District has two volunteer programs:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fema.gov\/community-emergency-response-teams\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CERT &#8211; Citizens Emergency Response Team<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/eastern-shore\/mrc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MRC \u2013 Eastern Shore Medical Reserve Corps<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Volunteers are accepted and trainings occur on a regular basis.\u00a0 Please call for more information.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">Contact:\u00a0 J.
