BLS Psychomotor Station Guidance

After careful consideration, the Office of EMS Management Team has decided to cancel all further Consolidated Testing at the BLS level through at least December 31, 2021 due to Executive Order 51, 53, 55 and 72.

With so many unknown factors in the months ahead and the amount of advanced planning and commitment required to hold a CTS, we determined cancellation to be in the best interest of the health, safety and well-being of all participants.Students will receive guidance from their Course Coordinator as to how their psychomotor skills will be tested in lieu of Consolidated Testing.

Education Coordinators are directed to the following page for up-to-date information on COVID-19 related documents and forms.

All BLS Courses will test their Psychomotor Exam in Virginia at Consolidated Test Site (CTS) and their NR written exam at Pearson VUE site.  Specific information regarding the psychomotor exam can be located on our web site at Psychomotor Exam Guide Document (PEG).

BLS Practical Station Videos

Below are the video segments of the practical exam stations which provide an example of what the EMT or Emergency Medical Responder Candidate may experience during Practical Station Testing.  They are not intended to be used as a skill teaching tool.  Candidates and Instructors may use these videos in conjunction with the Station Check sheets to prepare for the practical testing, but individual skills should be taught and mastered within the classroom environment.
