It shall be conducted through competency based critical thinking scenarios as approved by the program\u2019s EMS Physician.<\/p>\n<p>Whenever possible, your students should be evaluated by other Education Coordinators that were not part of the program, or had very little involvement, in order to ensure an objective evaluation.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Program must:\n<ul>\n<li>confirm that all students perform and demonstrate entry-level competence in all required skills being evaluated.<\/li>\n<li>guarantee those marked as successfully completing the didactic portion of an EMS training program have attained <u>basic theoretical and scientific knowledge reflective of state of the art patient care<\/u>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Minimum Requirements for Terminal Competency Psychomotor Exam<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Each testing station should have:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Equipment<\/strong> &#8211; Requisite equipment for selected scenario, decoy equipment is encouraged.<\/li>\n<li><strong>An Evaluator<\/strong> \u2013 this individual is responsible <em>for completing the Virginia Terminal Psychomotor Scenario Evaluation<\/em> for each candidate.<\/li>\n<li><strong>A patient<\/strong> \u2013 a moulaged, if necessary patient actor<\/li>\n<li><strong>A Professional Partner<\/strong> \u2013 an individual who is an EMT.
