{"id":14148,"date":"2019-12-09T09:00:43","date_gmt":"2019-12-09T14:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/emergency-medical-services\/?p=14148"},"modified":"2019-12-03T10:13:02","modified_gmt":"2019-12-03T15:13:02","slug":"oems-welcomes-renowned-educator-bob-page","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/emergency-medical-services\/2019\/12\/09\/oems-welcomes-renowned-educator-bob-page\/","title":{"rendered":"OEMS Welcomes Renowned Educator Bob Page"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-13947 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2019\/11\/Bob-Page-219x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"219\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2019\/11\/Bob-Page-219x300.png 219w, https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2019\/11\/Bob-Page-747x1024.png 747w, https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2019\/11\/Bob-Page-768x1053.png 768w, https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2019\/11\/Bob-Page.png 861w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 219px) 100vw, 219px\" \/>The Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS) welcomes Bob Page to our team as a Statewide Continuing Education (CE) Educator.\u00a0 Bob, who lives in Virginia, will be working in collaboration with the Division of Accreditation, Certification &amp; Education and our Local CE Educators across the Commonwealth to provide CAT 1 CE programs to all licensed EMS agencies at no charge.<\/p>\n<p>Bob will continue to offer those classes for which he is famous, however it is our goal and Bob\u2019s wish that we transition Virginia CAT 1 CE courses from the traditional classroom format to focus more on simulation and real-life scenario-based training.\u00a0 As such, Bob will be developing new courses, as well as adapting some of his existing classes to this new format.<\/p>\n<p>Following his onboarding at the OEMS, we will post Bob&#8217;s state email and phone number to this page on our website: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/emergency-medical-services\/statewide-ce-educator-bob-page\/\">https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/emergency-medical-services\/statewide-ce-educator-bob-page\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bob will be responsible for scheduling all training that he is conducting.\u00a0 The OEMS and Bob will ensure that the training is fairly and adequately distributed across Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>All training conducted by Bob will require the host training site to be open to providers from across the Commonwealth.\u00a0 Bob will use Eventbrite as the ticketing agent for the programs he offers in order to ensure fairness to everyone and to guarantee every participant a seat in the session.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to offering simulation and real-life scenario-based training in the field, Bob will also oversee the development of a new, interactive hour-long replacement program for the old monthly EMSAT broadcasts.\u00a0 The OEMS is aiming to bring this new\u2014yet to be named\u2014program online in January 2020.\u00a0 The programs will be conducted via webinar, making use of the existing EMSAT Host Sites.\u00a0 Tracie Jones, in the Division of Accreditation, Certification &amp; Education will coordinate with Bob to ensure Host Sites receive the necessary access credentials to view the program.\u00a0 CE for these programs will be recorded initially by paper-based CE cards, but will transition to electronic reporting over the next six months.<\/p>\n<p>We are pleased to welcome Bob to the OEMS and we look forward to offering quality simulation and real-life, scenario-based, CAT 1 CE programming to Virginia EMS agencies and providers for years to come.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS) welcomes Bob Page to our team as a Statewide Continuing Education (CE) Educator.\u00a0 Bob, who lives in Virginia, will be working in [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":78,"featured_media":13947,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-14148","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-blog"],"modified_by":"marianhunter","yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.3 -
