She commended the dedication, compassion and resilience that define Virginia\u2019s EMS providers, especially those who volunteer in service to their communities.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">You\u2019re not just keeping up with change \u2013 you\u2019re driving it. You\u2019re showing what it means to lead with integrity, serve with humility and care without condition, said Maria Beermann-Foat, PhD, NRP.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The rebranding of VAVRS to the Virginia Association of First Responders (VAFR) highlights a powerful shift that honors the legacy of volunteerism and embraces a broader, more inclusive future for Virginia\u2019s EMS System.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Continuing the weeklong celebration, Dr. Beermann-Foat also attended an uplifting EMS Week event hosted by Central Shenandoah EMS (CSEMS) Council \u2013 an ice-cream social that brought together EMS providers and the community for a time of reflection and fellowship. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Attendees participated in a group viewing and discussion of the documentary \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.honorablebutbroken.org\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Honorable But Broken: EMS in Crisis<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u201d which facilitated meaningful conversations regarding the current challenges in the EMS profession.
