{"id":4433,"date":"2017-05-15T15:48:21","date_gmt":"2017-05-15T19:48:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/environmental-health\/?page_id=4433"},"modified":"2017-05-15T16:19:01","modified_gmt":"2017-05-15T20:19:01","slug":"ispa-manual-changes","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/environmental-health\/bedding-and-upholstered-furniture\/ispa-manual-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"ISPA Manual Changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><u><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">Regarding 2017 updates to ISPA manual:<\/span><\/u><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">Like CT, MA, RI, and others, Virginia&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/law.lis.virginia.gov\/admincode\/title12\/agency5\/chapter125\/section90\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Regulations\u00a0for Bedding and Upholstered Furniture Inspection Program\u00a0<\/a>require the &#8220;Date of Delivery&#8221; item on the law label, though our Bedding Inspectors have not been actively enforcing this.\u00a0\u00a0The <a href=\"http:\/\/law.lis.virginia.gov\/vacodefull\/title32.1\/chapter6\/article7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Code of Virginia\u00a0<\/a>and the Regulations also require that text on a law label be at least 3 mm in height, and\u00a0no section of the label text is exempt from this height requirement. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">Due to the limited effect of these violations on public health, and the concerns raised by industry and representatives of IABFLO, Virginia does not intend to begin writing violation for these items.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">Virginia is considering adopting formal guidance that would address\u00a0industry concerns\u00a0about these requirements.\u00a0 If you have further concerns, please contact us at <a href=\"mailto:Olivia.McCormick@vdh.virginia.gov\">Olivia.McCormick@vdh.virginia.gov<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Regarding 2017 updates to ISPA manual: Like CT, MA, RI, and others, Virginia&#8217;s\u00a0Regulations\u00a0for Bedding and Upholstered Furniture Inspection Program\u00a0require the &#8220;Date of Delivery&#8221;
