If you notice any broken links or other problems, please report them to the <a href=\"mailto:daniel.powell@vdh.virginia.gov\"><u>webmaster<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.issc.org\/\"><strong>Interstate Shellfish Sanitation Conference:<\/strong><\/a> The Interstate Shellfish Sanitation Conference (ISSC) was formed in 1982 to foster and promote shellfish sanitation through the cooperation of state and federal control agencies, the shellfish industry, and the academic community.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.issc.org\/risks-of-eating-raw-oysters-or-clams\"><strong>ISSC: Risks of\u00a0Eating Raw Oysters and Clams:<\/strong><\/a> Consumer information provided by the Interstate Shellfish Sanitation Conference (ISSC) regarding the consumption of raw oysters and clams.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/surveillance-and-investigation\/virginia-reportable-disease-surveillance-data\/annual-reports\/\"><strong>Foodborne Disease Outbreak Reports:<\/strong><\/a> Per state law, all outbreaks, including those that are foodborne, are reportable in Virginia. The VDH <em>Office of Epidemiology&#8217;s Division of Surveillance and Investigation\u00a0<\/em>monitors all outbreaks in the Commonwealth.\u00a0 Annual reports are derived from their surveillance efforts.\u00a0 It is important to know that these reports house not only foodborne outbreaks but all reportable illnesses. To navigate to the Foodborne Disease Outbreak specific information follow the steps below.<br \/>\n<em>Annual Reports<\/em> \u2192 Find the appropriate year \u2192 <em>Descriptive Epidemiology of Reportable Diseases and Selected Maps<\/em> \u2192 <em>Outbreaks<\/em> \u2192 Scroll to find &#8220;<em>Foodborne Outbreaks<\/em>&#8221; in each report.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fda.gov\/food\/guidanceregulation\/default.htm\" target=\"_parent\"><strong>FDA Guidance &amp; Regulation:<\/strong><\/a> References food <em>(including shellfish<\/em>) safety programs, manufacturing processes, industry systems, and import\/export activities with links to Federal Register documents.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/seafood.oregonstate.edu\/\" target=\"_parent\"><strong>Seafood Network Information Center:<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Sponsored by the Sea Grant Extension Program of Oregon State University.
