\n\t\t\t\t\t\tThe agricultural industry employs a substantial number of migrant farm workers in the planting, cultivating, harvesting, and packaging of the many crops grown through out the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Virginia Department of Health promulgates and enforces regulations to ensure the safe and healthy living conditions of migrant workers and their families during their employment and residence in Virginia. \t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>

Local health departments inspect and permit migrant labor camps. A migrant labor camp owner or operator must apply with the local health department prior to receiving an inspection. Applications for a permit to operate a migrant labor camp should be submitted to the health department in which the camp is located at least 30 days prior to the opening of the camp.
