Patients can get them from routine care surgery, as a complication from the use of medical devices such as ventilators or catheters, or as a side effect of the overuse of antibiotics.<\/p>\n<p>In February 2019, the Virginia General Assembly passed House Bill 2425 which expanded statewide surveillance for HAIs to additional healthcare settings. Please use the \u201cFacility Setting\u201d filter to view Inpatient Rehab Facilities located within another facility. Each of the five VDH Health Planning Regions are represented by different colors. The facility name is represented near each circle. The SIR adjusts for various facility and\/or patient-level factors that contribute to HAI risk within each facility. SIRs are based on the complex admission\/readmission model for adult patients (\u226518 years). More information on this model can be found can be found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/nhsn\/pdfs\/ps-analysis-resources\/nhsn-sir-guide.pdf\">CDC NHSN SIR Guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For more information about each SIR, hover over the SIR values in the table. Healthcare personnel include employees, licensed independent practitioners, and adult students\/trainees and volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>The national Health and Human Services (HHS) Healthy People 2020 Goal is to have 90% of all healthcare personnel vaccinated for the flu every season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For more information about each facilities HCP flu vaccination percentage, hover over the bars in the graph.
