This education helps clients improve pregnancy outcomes and decrease unplanned pregnancies. Vaccines are provided to adults and children following the guidelines set by the Advisory Committee in Immunization Practices (ACIP) within the CDC. On-site and off-site immunization clinics provide opportunities for flu, pneumonia, tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, and other adult and childhood vaccines. The program also provides consultation and vaccines for foreign travel.<\/p>\n<p>Visit the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/immunization\/\">VDH Immunization<\/a><\/span> page to learn more about how you can obtain a record of your vaccines, what vaccines you may need, and information about certain vaccines.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-1240-1-0-3\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"4\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<h2><span style=\"color: #13294b;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Sexually Transmitted Infections\/Sexually Transmitted Diseases<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The STI program aims to prevent the spread of STIs through education, outreach, and clinical services.<\/p>\n<p>We offer:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>counseling<\/li>\n<li>testing<\/li>\n<li>treatment<\/li>\n<li>referral services for patients at risk of or currently experiencing STIs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Call your <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/mount-rogers\/locations\/\">local health department<\/a><\/span> to schedule an appointment. You can also request an appointment by using our <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/redcap.vdh.virginia.gov\/redcap\/surveys\/?s=PR4NJL3YHM\">Family Planning Appointment Request Form<\/a><\/span>. Screening and early detection reduces death rates, improves treatment options, and greatly increases survival.<\/p>\n<p>Services provided include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>breast exam<\/li>\n<li>mammogram<\/li>\n<li>pelvic exam<\/li>\n<li>Pap test<\/li>\n<li>any diagnostics needed to reach a final diagnosis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To be eligible, women must be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a Virginia resident<\/li>\n<li>between the ages of 18-64<\/li>\n<li>meet federal income guidelines<\/li>\n<li>be uninsured<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Women 18-39 years old must be symptomatic or considered high risk for breast and\/or cervical cancer to be eligible. For more information visit:\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/every-womans-life\/\"> VDH Free Breast and Cervical Screenings<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-1240-1-0-5\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"6\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<h2><span style=\"color: #13294b;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Tuberculosis (TB) Management<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-block-id=\"29a6ed24-660e-495c-8f99-d80091f30337\" data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">The Tuberculosis (TB) Management program aims to prevent, control, and eliminate tuberculosis in the community. The program offers confidential TB risk assessment screenings and testing. The TB team works with medical providers of individuals diagnosed with TB or a latent TB infection to provide case management, provision of medication, and care coordination. The team also assists with the identification and testing of contacts for individuals with active TB. We also provide transportation for appointments and home visits to deliver medication to perform Directly Observed Therapy (DOT).<\/p>\n<p>Visit <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/tuberculosis\/\">VDH's Tuberculosis<\/a><\/span> page to learn more about Tuberculosis management in Virginia.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-1240-1-0-6\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-last-child\" data-index=\"7\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<h2><span style=\"color: #13294b;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Oral Health<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-block-id=\"0f51920f-53f6-4cf3-beb1-5ceb3d066034\" data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">The Dental Health Preventive Services program and the school-based Dental Sealant programs help prevent tooth decay for those who are at higher risk. This includes those that are at the highest risk of dental disease. The program focuses on prevention and early identification and treatment of physical and behavioral health concerns. We aim to serve as a steppingstone to the establishment of a dental home.<\/p>\n<p>This program is currently available in the City of Bristol and the counties of Smyth and Washington.
