They are intended as recommendations rather than as mandates.<\/p>\n<h3>Translated Materials<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/crt\/executive-order-13166\" aria-describedby=\"external-link-warning\">Executive Order 13166<\/a> mandates the provision of language-appropriate services to persons who are limited in their English proficiency (LEP). The purpose of this order is to improve access to federally-conducted and federally assisted programs and activities for persons with limited English proficiency.<\/p>\n<p>The Newcomer Health Program has collaborated with the Office of Minority Health and Health Equity, Division of Multicultural Health and Community Engagement to provide <a href=\"https:\/\/thinkculturalhealth.hhs.gov\/clas\/what-is-clas\" aria-describedby=\"external-link-warning\">Culturally &amp; Linguistically Appropriate Health Care Services (CLAS Act Initiative).<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>CDC resources in languages other than English<\/h3>\n<p>The CDC has a <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwn.cdc.gov\/pubs\/other-languages\" aria-describedby=\"external-link-warning\">multi-lingual resource page<\/a> that contains health education content in languages other than English.<\/p>\n<h3>Cultural Orientation Resource Exchange<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/coresourceexchange.org\/\" aria-describedby=\"external-link-warning\">Cultural Orientation Resource Exchange (CORE)<\/a>, a technical assistance program, connects and supports refugee resettlement staff globally to deliver effective Cultural Orientation which helps refugees and Special Immigrant Visa holders achieve self-sufficiency in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Through CORE, Cultural Orientation providers can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in online and in-person learning opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Download resources to deliver Cultural Orientation<\/li>\n<li>Utilize refugee resources in multiple languages and multimedia formats<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>CORE is funded by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM), and administered by the International Rescue Committee.<\/p>\n<p>CORE, Cultural Backgrounder: <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3pEEDYo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" aria-describedby=\"external-link-warning\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/bit.ly\/3pEEDYo&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1635443417187000&amp;usg=AFQjCNE16ZB2P5YhWgkNx0F2boUwMqqiNA\">Afghanistan<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Other Resources<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/switchboardta.org\/\" aria-describedby=\"external-link-warning\">Switchboard<\/a>, a one-stop resource hub for refugee service providers in the United States.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/refugeerights.org\/\" aria-describedby=\"external-link-warning\">The International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP)<\/a> organizes law students and lawyers to develop and enforce a set of legal and human rights for refugees and displaced persons.
