Free Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccinations this Saturday Morning at Danville Mall

Pittsylvania/Danville Health District offering both first and second doses from 9 a.m. until noon

(DANVILLE, Va.) – The Virginia Department of Health’s Pittsylvania/Danville Health District, with the support of local COVID-19 response partners, will hold a vaccination clinic this Saturday, June 12 at the former JCPenney store at the Danville Mall, 499 Mall Drive in Danville.

The clinic will offer both first and second doses of the Pfizer vaccine. Pfizer vaccine is approved for anyone ages 12 and up. Anyone under 18 must have parental consent and/or be accompanied by a parent, guardian or someone acting in the place of a guardian.

Second vaccines will be given to individuals who have received their first Pfizer vaccination on or before Saturday, May 22. If you are coming for your second dose, please bring your vaccination card or record that shows the date you received your first dose.

Walk-ins are welcome at this event, or you may reserve a time for your first vaccine at www.vavax.org/appointment/en/reg/6712607559.

“It’s never been easier to get the COVID-19 vaccine,” Pittsylvania/Danville Health District Director Dr. Scott Spillmann said. “We welcome everyone ages 12 and up to come out this Saturday morning to be vaccinated to help protect yourself and your family.”

“We are so very thankful to have this opportunity to help protect our youth and other adults, to extend our reach of helping to protect our communities,” continued Dr. Spillmann. “We encourage everyone to come get the vaccine.”

We ask all who are to be vaccinated to please wear a mask and ‘vaccine ready’ clothing if possible (a shirt with easy access to your upper arm).

These events are presented with cooperation and support from Sovah Health-Danville, the City of Danville, Pittsylvania County, Averett University and Danville Community College Schools of Nursing, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Pittsylvania-Danville Chamber of Commerce, Danville Regional Foundation and Medical Reserve Corps volunteers. The city worked with Hull Property Group, which owns and operates the mall, to secure the space.

If Saturday’s clinic is not convenient for you, you will find additional convenient places to receive a  free vaccination at www.vaccinate.virginia.gov, or vaccinefinder.org, or by calling the COVID Vaccine Hotline at 1-877-VAX-IN-VA (1-877-829-4682).
