Military Circle Mall Regional Site Continues Free Vaccination and Testing Dates
(Norfolk-Va.) – The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) in coordination with the City of Norfolk and surrounding localities is pleased to continue offering FREE COVID-19 vaccinations and testing at the Military Circle Mall (MCM) located at 880 N. Military Highway, Norfolk.
“The participation remains robust at the MCM” reports, Dr. Parham Jaberi, Acting Health Director for Norfolk and Portsmouth Health Departments. He shared, “358 individuals presented for vaccinations on Tuesday (9/14), 53 on Wednesday (9/15) and 202 on Thursday (9/16).” Dr. Jaberi attributed the lower numbers on the fifteenth due to the fact that this was the first week vaccinations were provided on a Wednesday. He expects those numbers to increase as the community becomes further aware of the new hours. Testing demand also continues at the MCM; Dr. Jaberi reports “118 individuals were tested on Monday (9/13).”
FREE COVID-19 VACCINATION clinics at the MCM will be held next week as follows:
- Tuesday, September 21, from 2 to 6 p.m.
- Wednesday September 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Thursday, September 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Vaccines are available for individuals ages 12 and up. Children 12-17 are authorized for the Pfizer vaccine only. Anyone under the age of 18 will need to have a parent or guardian accompanying them in order to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Walk-ins will be accepted, but advanced registration is encouraged. FREE COVID-19 TESTING at the MCM will be held Monday, September 20, from 2 to 6 p.m. Testing is available for ages 3 and up. Minors must also be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No registration is needed. Just walk right in. PCR testing only. Rapid testing is not available.
Masks are required while attending the vaccination and testing clinics at the Military Circle Mall. Please also bring identification (ID) with you; accommodations may be made for those without an ID. For those who are seeking a second or third dose, please be sure to bring your COVID-19 vaccination record card.
