Mobile Vaccination Clinics Coming to Southeastern Virginia
Locations Announced for November 1 thru November 7

(Southeastern, Va.)  — The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) Eastern Region Health Districts – Western Tidewater, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Norfolk and Virginia Beach – in coordination with local supporting partners, are pleased to announce that they will be hosting mobile vaccination clinics in the coming months.  Starting on November 3, these mobile clinics will offer free COVID-19 vaccines in a series of community sites, primarily in rural and underserved areas where vaccine access can be a challenge.

The vaccinations are free and easy to get.  No appointments are needed.  The mobile clinics will offer the Moderna, Pfizer and the Johnson & Johnson vaccines, and pediatric (age 5-11) vaccines when available.

“This mobile asset is a great addition to the cadre of opportunities currently available in the region in addition to the Military Circle Mall, our neighborhood pharmacies, and local providers,” reports Dr. Parham Jaberi, Chief Deputy Commissioner for VDH and Acting Director for Norfolk and Portsmouth Health Districts.

Dr. Billie Blair-Taylor, Acting Director for Western Tidewater which includes Cities of Suffolk, Franklin, and Counties of Southampton and Isle of White, notes the increased convenience brought forth to residents in the area who live further away from metropolitan centers and the state supported community vaccination center at the Military Circle Mall.  “It’s about taking the vaccine to our residents, ensuring access, removing barriers, and making it as convenient as possible for our community members to get vaccinated.  It’s so easy to stop by one of the clinics while you are already out and about,” Blair-Taylor said.

The dates, times and locations of these mobile clinics for the coming week include:

  • November 3, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., Emily Green Shores 500 Westmoreland Ave., Portsmouth
  • November 3, 3:30 – 6:30 p.m., Portsmouth Health Dept. 1701 High Street, Portsmouth
  • November 4, 1 – 6:30 p.m., Franklin Workforce Development Center 100 N. College Dr., Franklin
  • November 5, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Beach Grove United Methodist Church 4251 Driver Lane, Suffolk

Weekly announcements will be made to notify residents of these vendor-operated, mobile vaccination clinics throughout the region.
