Richmond Health District July 28th COVID-19 testing event shortened due to weather heat advisory

The Richmond City Health District will conduct COVID-19 testing hours during morning hours, 9 to 11 a.m. at Southwood Management Center tomorrow, but has decided to cancel the scheduled afternoon hours (4 – 6 p.m.) because of the weather forecast for a heat index of 100 plus degrees in the afternoon Tuesday, July 28.

Pre-registered persons may reschedule by calling the Richmond & Henrico Health Districts’ COVID-19 hotline at 804-205-3501, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The health districts’ testing event this Thursday, 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Tuckahoe Middle School will go on as planned.

Members of the community are urged to take precautions to prevent weather related heat injury during the current spell of extremely hot temperatures: Limit outdoor activities during the hottest time of the day; stay hydrated with water; wear light-weight, light colored clothing; stay indoors in air conditioning if possible.
