THIS WEEKEND: CONCERTS AND COVID-19 VACCINES

RICHMOND, VA – Richmond and Henrico Health Districts (RHHD) and community partners are offering COVID-19 vaccines at two concerts this weekend as part of the larger Summer of Vax effort. This summer, RHHD and other vaccine providers are popping up at community events to offer vaccines to interested individuals who have not yet been vaccinated.

RHHD staff will be onsite offering COVID-19 vaccines at The Churchill Gospel Fest happening at the Bon Secours Sarah Garland Jones Center (2600 Nine Mile Road) this Saturday, July 10th from 5:00pm-8:00pm. This free, outdoor concert will feature R. Timothy Haughton & Renewed, Jaccarri Woodson, April Robinson, LaTonya Camp Gregory Amos, and more!

“Since its inception, the Bon Secours Sarah Garland Jones Center has prioritized offering a space for families to connect and have fun while offering health and wellness programs,” says Sean O’Brien, Bon Secours Director of Community Health. “The Church Hill Gospel Fest does just that; there will be a festive concert, opportunities for volunteerism with RVA Rapid Transit, and free COVID-19 vaccines.”

“We encourage anyone to come out and enjoy the free concert,” says Faith Walker of RVA Rapid Transit. “We can’t wait to meet some more folks in our communities over music and celebrations.”

Then, on Sunday, July 11th, RiteAid Pharmacy will offer COVID-19 vaccines to concert-goers at the Fitz & The Tantrums concert at Brown’s Island. Please note that this concert requires tickets for admission.
