Mount Rogers Health District and Wythe-Bland Foundation Host Free Vaccine Clinics

(Marion, Va.) – Mount Rogers Health District, along with the Wythe-Bland Foundation, will be offering free vaccines to residents of Wythe and Bland Counties at vaccine clinic events.

Only seasonal influenza (“flu”) vaccine will be offered at these community events. Community members may schedule appointments for Tdap, pneumonia 13, pneumonia 23, hepatitis A and hepatitis B vaccines at the local health department. There will be no cost to participants for any vaccines. Vaccines will be billed to insurance or paid for by the Wythe-Bland Foundation grant, if insurance does not cover the cost.

“We are thrilled to once again be able to offer free vaccines to our community,” said Karen Shelton, M.D., director of the Mount Rogers Health District. “Flu vaccination will be critical this year as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. We encourage everyone to come get a free flu shot at a clinic and to take advantage of additional vaccine options at the local health department.”

  • The Bland County clinic will be held Monday, October 19 from 1 – 5 p.m. at Bland County Fairgrounds, 123 Fairgrounds Street, Bland.
  • The Wythe County clinics will be held at Thursday, November 5 from 1 – 6 p.m. at the Wytheville Meeting Center, 333 Community Boulevard, Wytheville.
