Southside Health District Wants You to Be Stroke Smart
Boydton, VA – The Southside Health District is teaching stroke detection and prevention at the Boydton Public Library. Community members are invited to attend “Be Stroke Smart,” a free educational session focused on stroke awareness, on Thursday, March 19th, from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Boydton Public Library, located at 1294 Jefferson Street, Boydton, VA 23917.
The event will cover essential information about strokes, including:
- What a stroke is
- The two major types of strokes
- Common signs and symptoms
- The importance of immediate action

“Quick recognition and response can save lives and reduce the impact of stroke,” said Amanda Hutchins, event coordinator. “We invite everyone to join us and become empowered with the knowledge to help themselves and their loved ones.”
