RAPPAHANNOCK AREA HEALTH DISTRICT RECEIVES GRANT FROM THE MARY WASHINGTON HOSPITAL COMMUNITY SERVICE FUND

Recently, the Rappahannock Area Health District (RAHD) received a $70,000 grant from the Mary Washington Hospital Community Service Fund for its high-risk maternity program.  Maternity patients are categorized as “high-risk” due to medical or obstetrical conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, blood disease, renal disease, pulmonary disease, repeat Caesarian sections, and a host of other ailments which puts them at a higher risk for a poor pregnancy outcome. more>>

RAPPAHANNOCK AREA HEALTH DISTRICT RECEIVES GRANT FROM THE MARY WASHINGTON HOSPITAL COMMUNITY SERVICE FUND

Recently, the Rappahannock Area Health District (RAHD) received a $20,000 grant from the Mary Washington Hospital Community Service Fund for its “Every Woman’s Life” (EWL) program.  EWL is a public health program that helps uninsured, low income women gain access to free breast and cervical cancer screening services.more>>

CRATER HEALTH DISTRICT RELOCATES DINWIDDIE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT

(PETERSBURG, Va.) –On Friday, March 16, 2012, the Dinwiddie County Health Department offices, located at 14006 Boydton Plank Road, Dinwiddie, Virginia will be closed and will relocate to 18712 Carson Road, Dinwiddie, Virginia. The new site will open for services on Monday, March 19, 2012.   This is a joint effort between the Crater Health District and Dinwiddie County Government to better serve the community. more>>
