Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services Launches New Logo to <\/span><\/b>Reflect\u00a0Unified\u00a0Commitment to Virginia\u2019s EMS System<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u202f<\/span>(<\/span>RICHMOND, Va.<\/span><\/b>) \u2014<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/i>The Virginia Department of Health (VDH), Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS) recently launched its new logo to reflect a unified identity and strengthened commitment to Virginia\u2019s EMS providers, system partners and the communities they serve.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The refreshed logo\u00a0honors\u00a0OEMS\u2019\u00a0core values\u00a0and responsibility\u00a0to\u00a0ensure\u00a0quality\u00a0prehospital care to all people in\u00a0Virginia, while\u00a0aligning with VDH\u2019s\u00a0main\u00a0brand identity\u00a0and vision. The new OEMS logo also highlights\u00a0the future of EMS in Virginia,\u00a0as it moves toward a more accountable\u00a0and\u00a0sustainable\u00a0office and EMS system.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe new OEMS\u00a0logo symbolizes the progress we continue to make as an office and as part of\u00a0the broader\u00a0EMS\u00a0system at the state and national levels,\u201d said\u00a0<\/span>OEMS Director\u00a0Dr. Maria Beermann-Foat<\/span><\/b>. \u201cIt reflects both our history and our future as we continue to strengthen our identity and reinforce our role in the advancement of quality prehospital emergency care in our communities. It also underscores our reestablished commitment to Virginia’s EMS providers as part of the wider VDH mission to protect and promote the health of Virginians.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A lot of thought and care went into the symbolism of this logo, which is steeped in EMS tradition, including the Star of Life and the Rod of Asclepius \u2013 all images that are synonymous with the EMS profession and the healthcare field. The logo also highlights the state of Virginia to illustrate inclusiveness and care for all people in the commonwealth. OEMS will begin transitioning to the new logo immediately, along with the seven designated OEMS regions. However, full implementation is expected to take several months, as we phase out our legacy logo during this time. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
