Over the past year, the CSHD hotline has received nearly 3,000 calls. The hotline was initially implemented in March 2022, has assisted community members in making vaccine and testing appointments, connected them to resources, offered help with referrals and provided cleaning, hygiene and isolation recommendations related to COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe COVID-19 hotline has played a pivotal role in COVID-19 prevention by providing real-time assistance and information,\u201d said Dr. Elaine Perry, Interim Director of the Central Shenandoah Health District. \u201cWe are so grateful for the time and dedication of our staff as they made this effort possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) currently still operates a statewide COVID-19 call center, available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>For the most up to date COVID-19 information, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/coronavirus\/\">VDH COVID-19 Dashboard<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/index.html\">Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) COVID-19 Dashboard<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>March 6, 2023 Media Contact: Jordan Shelton, CSHD communications specialist &amp; PIO, jordan.shelton@vdh.virginia.gov Central Shenandoah Health District Discontinues COVID-19 Hotline STAUNTON, Va.\u00a0\u2014 The Central Shenandoah Health District (CSHD) will discontinue the use of the COVID-19 hotline on March 30.
