The Norfolk Department of Public Health (NDPH)<\/strong> has issued a swimming advisory for nine beaches in the Ocean View area after routine water testing detected elevated levels of enterococci bacteria<\/strong> that exceed Virginia’s water quality standards.<\/p>\n

The advisory is in effect for the following beaches:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • East Community Beach<\/li>\n
  • 21st Bay<\/li>\n
  • 5th Bay<\/li>\n
  • Capeview Avenue<\/li>\n
  • North Community Beach<\/li>\n
  • Ocean View Park<\/li>\n
  • Sarah Constant Beach<\/li>\n
  • 10th View<\/li>\n
  • 13th View<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    As a precaution, NDPH advises the public to avoid swimming<\/strong> at these locations until the advisory is lifted. Warning signs have been posted at each affected beach to notify visitors.<\/p>\n

    NDPH will continue to monitor water quality through follow-up testing. The advisory will be removed, and the public will be notified once bacteria levels have returned to meet state water quality standards.<\/p>\n

    The health and safety of our community remain our top priority. Residents and visitors are encouraged to check for updates before visiting Ocean View beaches.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
